Description
The lighting board for compartment coaches features warm white LEDs with a wide beam angle that evenly illuminate both the compartments and the corridor. The brightness of the corridor and compartment lighting can each be dimmed separately and continuously. Our special circuit with a supercapacitor ensures consistently bright, flicker-free light even on dirty tracks and in unpowered sections.
Installation is child’s play: you simply solder the power leads from the axle pickups to the board, and the board can then be glued into the coach roof. On request, we can also supply matching axle pickups for current collection.
At each end of the board there is also a buffered, separately dimmable connection for tail lights. We also supply matching red LEDs for this.
If you would like to light several coaches, we recommend buying the axle pickups or the red LEDs in our packs of 10, 20 or 50.
Our lighting boards for compartment coaches are available in two variants: for coaches with 11 compartments and for coaches with 12 compartments. The board is designed for 1:87 scale with a coach length of 30.3 cm. Please select the appropriate variant (11 or 12 compartments) when ordering.
The board fits, among others:
- Am/Bm coaches (express/InterCity/Interregio)
- Eurofima coaches (InterCity/EuroCity)
The capacitor can be mounted at various positions (see the board diagram) on the lighting board to avoid collisions with frame members or walls in the coach. For this, we use an H-Type capacitor that lies flat on the board. If you would prefer to store the capacitor separately (e.g. in the toilet cubicle), we can alternatively include a V-Type capacitor, which is particularly well suited for this. Solder pads are provided on both the top and bottom of the board for this purpose. Further information can be found in the product photos. Please select the desired capacitor type when ordering. To give you great flexibility, we always include the capacitors unsoldered so that the positioning can be adapted exactly to your project. Pay attention to the correct polarity – you can find this in the enclosed manual.
No cables or wires are included in the scope of delivery, as each project requires its own colours or lengths.
